We don’t want to just stand by and watch, we want to be actively involved in more sustainable growing practices, starting at the genetic level. So how can we ensure that we sustain our fruit supply into the future? Our CBDO Katelyn Jones talks to Mike Knowles, editorial director at Fruitnet Media International, about our sustainable approach and the Hot Climate Breeding Program, in which The New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research Limited, IRTA, Fruit Futur and T&G Global Limited have joined forces to develop and market new apple and pear varieties specifically bred for hot climates.
