Envy™ and JAZZ™
In more than 60 countries around the world, our crisp and juicy premium apple brands Jazz™ and Envy™ are becoming increasingly popular with customers and consumers. Cultivated in sun-drenched regions, these natural crossings combine the favourable characteristics of their two parent varieties Gala and Braeburn – each in its individual way. That’s why they are grown not only in New Zealand, but also in select regions in Australia, USA, South America, Asia and Europe.
Exceptional firmness and a delicious sweet taste with a slight pear note turn a bite into an Envy™ into a remarkable moment. The first Envy™ apple was sold in 2008. Since then, the variety named Scilate has become an international success story with global demand growing unabated. To meet the requirements in both local and international markets, we have launched a global cultivation programme to expand plantings with demand-driven volumes in select regions.
First launched in 2004, JAZZ™, with its tangy-sweet taste and perfect size, has become a popular, refreshing snack apple for the whole family. With its tangy-sweet taste, it is a refreshing snack and thus lives up to its variety name Scifresh. The naturally distinct shelf-life and crunchy flesh guarantee for a consistent taste experience.
Our organic success story began more than 20 years ago. Today, organic family farms grow a diverse range of local fruit on more than 600 ha located at the foothills of the Alps in Southern Germany.
Our producers grow according to the guidelines of organic farming associations including Bioland, Naturland and Demeter, with some offering biocyclic-vegan products as well. One in five of our apples at BayWa Obst are now grown according to certified organic standards and stored, graded and packed in our exclusively organic BayWa packhouse in Ravensburg.
In addition to pome fruit, we also offer seasonal berries and stone fruit. We are proud to have presented our diverse organic range for 20 years now under the successfully established private label “Bio-Obst vom Bodensee”.
